Marites Carino
With a background in dance and broadcast journalism, Marites combines her passion for dance and film through her inventive dance shorts. For more than a decade, she was the dance editor at cultural weekly the Montreal Mirror. Her award-winning films have screened at numerous international festivals. She enjoys telling people’s stories, and particularly those who use art to overcome obstacle.
In her spare time, she dances slowly to fast music, cycles, snaps photos and writes about herself in the third person.
